This generated revenue of \u20ac432 million\u2014double the amount from the previous year\u2014and a total of 20,000 direct hires.<\/p>\n<p>Of the 180 productions carried out, 134 were national projects and 46 were international:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">67 feature films<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">36 documentaries<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">29 fiction series<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">23 animation projects<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">16 television programs<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">9 short films<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Among the 46 international shoots, mainly from the<b> United States <\/b>and <b>Europe<\/b> (Sweden, Denmark, and Germany, among others), notable titles include <b><i>The Beast<\/i><\/b>, starring Samuel L. Jackson and John Travolta; <b><i>Noturne<\/i><\/b>, starring Jude Law; and <b><i>Day Drinker<\/i><\/b>, starring Johnny Depp and Pen\u00e9lope Cruz.<\/p>\n<p>Many of the national productions are co-productions between Spain and countries in Latin America (Dominican Republic, Mexico) and Europe (Germany, Belgium, Italy), as well as with the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n<p>As for national projects, noteworthy ones include <b><i>El ser querido (The beloved)<\/i><\/b>, by Rodrigo Sorogoyen, and <b><i>Amarga Navidad<\/i><\/b>, by Pedro Almod\u00f3var, both now selected to compete in the Official Section of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.festival-cannes.com\/en\/\">Cannes Film Festival<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Post-production activity in the islands has also increased.
