DIRECTORS’S BIOFILMOGRAPHY

ELISA HERRERA

 Elisa Herrera is a filmmaker and screenwriter from Tenerife. She studied film production in Madrid and started working for various production companies such as Videomedia, Amiguetes Entertainment, and Grundy Producciones.

In 2015, she wrote the film “De ciervos y otros animales muertos” for the Asturian production company La Página en Blanco. The script was a finalist in the Cima Mentoring pitching competition. She also wrote the short film “Jota,” which received awards at festivals, including the prize for the best screenplay.In 2022, Elisa wrote the documentary feature film “La última gran colonia” for Videoreport Canarias and the script for the short film “Visionado.” This small fiction piece has been selected in over 40 festivals and has received several awards. She is currently developing the script for the documentary feature film “Generaciones,” a project selected for CreaDoc 2023.

MANUEL ROMÁN

He starts in photography within the UFCA collective in his hometown of Algeciras. He moves to Madrid and enters the cinematography department at the ECAM. Shortly afterward, he makes the transition to television as part of the directing team for the series “Policías, en el corazón de la calle” (Police, in the Heart of the Street). For 14 years, he serves as a film professor and head of studies in various film academies, a period he combines with his work in film and television. In 2015, he co-writes the feature film “De Ciervos y Otros Animales Muertos” for the production company La Página en Blanco Films, and in 2017, he makes his directorial debut with the medium-length film “Jota.” For the past few years, now permanently residing in Tenerife, he has dedicated himself to still photography on various film sets, notable among them is “Las noches de Tefía,” currently in broadcast. Also noteworthy is the short film he directs in 2022, “Visionado,” currently included in the Canarias en Corto catalog.
