Animetraje connects people with culture, product with context, subcultures with eras, artists with the world.
Animetraje transforms the film industry into a social construct tool. A cultural movement that proclaims the symbiosis between the virgin and natural ecosystem of La Palma and the Shintoism of Japanese animated films that are based on respect for nature and awareness of equality.
The festival, entirely dedicated to anime, has been settled in Santa Cruz de La Palma since its very first edition in 2008, and was later brought to life once again in 2017. In 2018 we had the pleasure to inaugurate the event calendar commemorating the 150th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Spain. Animetraje has been invited to the celebration of the birthday of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan by the Embassy of Japan in Spain and moreover attended the Japanese convention ‘Japan Weekend Madrid’ at IFEMA.
