The Undergrowth
Macu Machín’s feature debut, produced by El Viaje Film, had its premiere at Berlinale´s Forum section 2024. Machín’s film is a personal affair, with the filmmaker chronicling the routine of her mother and two aunts as they finally try to settle the distribution of their family inheritance after years of debate. In the background to the family dispute, nature seeps in, the documentary juxtaposing the lulling rhythms of the island with the eruption of long-held grievances between the sisters.

Filmed in the Canary Islands: Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2
Part of the second season of the acclaimed Amazon Prime Video series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power was filmed on the island of Tenerife. The Teide National Park and the town of San Juan de la Rambla, among other areas of the island.
As Lindsey Weber, executive producer of the series, points out: “We knew we needed a place that was hot and sandy. Rhûn (the land where the story takes place) is a treacherous and vast environment, and Tenerife offered all that” (via National Geographic).
