Filming stats carried out in the Canary Islands 2024

Last February we published data on filming productions carried out in the Canary Islands in 2024. The total sum of productions (film and television)  was 154 and more than 14.000 direct jobs on the islands were created.

Of the 154 productions filmed in 2024, 80 were carried out by national production companies, including Canarian ones, while 45 were international projects. The breakdown includes:

  • 55 fiction productions (30 feature films and 25 series)
  • 44 documentaries (31 feature-length and 11 series)
  • 26 animated productions (6 feature films and 20 series)
  • 14 TV programs
  • 17 short films
  • 12 post-production projects

Additionally, 390 advertising productions were recorded throughout the year.

The total investment in the Canary Islands surpassed €218,053,860, although this is considered a conservative estimate, as not all productions update their financial data. In terms of employment, the industry generated 14,675 contracts for local technical and artistic personnel, excluding service provider contracts. Filming took place over 6,150 production days, spread across all the islands.

The Canary Islands have firmly established themselves as a key location for international, national, and local audiovisual productions.
